Prof. Dr. Saadet Turkan
Work experience:
The professor, was born on 9 September in 1950 in Ankara. After completing his primary, secondary and high school education in Ankara After graduating from Istanbul university, Istanbul medicine college in 1975 with a good degree, he began his specialized education in Radiotherapy at Istanbul medicine college. In 1977, with the establishment of the Radiotherapy clinic at Cerrahpaşa medicine college, he continued his education there.
From 1978 to 1979, he worked at Pierre and Marie Curie University in Paris and the tumor center in Timon hospital, Gustave Roussy cancer center and the Curie cancer therapy center. He continued the scholarship of the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs in specialized training. In 1981 he became an expert. After his military service, he returned to his duty at Cerrahpaşa medicine college.
Between 1983 and 1989, he worked three times as a visiting lecturer at Paris cancer centers. He was awarded the title of associate professor in 1987 and professor in 1996.
Between December 1996 and December 1997, he was appointed as the founding president in the Medicine college of Marmara University, department of radiation oncology. He has been a faculty member at Cerrahpaşa medicine college since 1997 and retired in September 2015 of his own free will.
Turkan has been married with a daughter for 35 years. He speaks French and English.
Dr. Saadet Turkan works in the field of radiation oncology at Gayrettepe Florence Nightingale hospital.
